Fall in Love: October wedding at the Frick
Patrick and Tara met in July of 2011 at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s annual Cosmopolitan Pittsburgh party. The theme that year, All Aboard!, could not have been more appropriate as these two unknowingly embarked on their lifelong journey together. During the summer of 2013, Patrick was traveling extensively for work and was returning home from North Carolina. While manuvering a tight connection on his way home for Labor Day weekend, Patrick was finally able to connect with Tara's mother and grandmother to receive their blessing. Once cleared for take-off, figuratively and literally, he knew that it was time for his plan to take flight. Since their time together was short, they always planned to spend the first few hours of Patrick's arrival home together..and this weekend was no different. The first stop was their favorite Lawrenceville restaurant, Piccolo Forno, to enjoy a great meal and a special bottle of wine. After dinner they headed back to the retreat that Patrick's backyard had become. While enjoying the quiet after a long week, Patrick jumped up to retrieve something from the house. He returned with a small paper bag and a card (one of Tara's most favorite things). As she began to open the card, he reached inside the bag, pulled out a ring box, dropped to one knee, and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. (She said yes) He cried a little, she cried a lot. "It was the kind of night that felt special...it was the night we started the next chapter of our lives."
